Pakistan recognized the communist government of China in 1950 and supported it in regaining the UNO membership. During 1956-60, leaders of both countries visited each other's country to strengthen economic and cultural relations. In 1963, the boundary line between the two countries was demarcated to avoid any conflict in future. A series of trade agreements were signed in 1960s. China granted $60 million interest free loan and became the world's largest importer of Pakistan's cotton. Pakistan imported industrial machinery and developed the Heavy Mechanical Complex at Taxila. Pakistan International Airline started regular flights to China which resulted in increased business. Kara Koram Highway is the road link that flourishes trade and tourism between the two countries.
China has supported Pakistan's stand on Kashmir issue. During the 1965 war with India, China supplied military aid to Pakistan along with diplomatic assistance. In 1986, the two countries signed a nuclear cooperation treaty which is an indication of very good relations. China gave the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant to Pakistan, constructed near Mianwali and which started operation in 1999.
Now coming to the weaker side, Pakistan did not have good relations with China in its early few years after independence due to pro-American policies (USA and China were rivals). In 1959 Pakistan condemned military action in Tibet which was a displeasure for China. In the 1971 war with India, China did not support Pakistan due to former USSR pressure who supported India. During 1990s China wanted Pakistan to resolve its issue of Kashmir with India. Perhaps she wanted a compromise which was a cause of resentment for Pakistan.
Conclusively, it can be said that as a whole Pakistan has maintained cordial relations with China. The two countries have been living in harmony. Delegations from almost all walks of life exchanged visits. Up to 1999, there were strong economic, trade and cultural ties between the two countries. And Pakistan received significant military and industrial equipment from China.
i think this is really short
ReplyDeleteAccording to the mark scheme I think it's perfect. Moreover the construction of paragraphs is also good

Deleteit is supposed to be laconic on this website
DeleteHow many marks could this answer achieve

DeleteI heard an answer of 14 marks is supposed to have 8 paragraphs, 7 for explanation, 1 for evaluation. And considering this question, since relations with china were mostly good, 4 paragraphs for successes and 3 for failures, 1 for your evaluation. What you have posted seems unreliable considering the info i have. Tell me if you think anything i've mentioned is wrong though.
ReplyDeleteIn a 14 mark answer you're supposed to have 5-6 paragraphs, 4-5 for relevant points and explanation+evaluation and one paragraph for conclusion. 3 paragraphs for failures with China would be a lot considering there were only like 3-4 failures which could be fitted in 2 paragraphs or even 1 without seeming extended too much.
DeleteQuality over quantity
Delete4 success and 3 failures
ReplyDeletethis is actually quite good, 14 marks is supposed to have an intro, then separate paragraphs for the successes or failure in this case and the conclusion. I was hoping for an introduction as well but this is good.

Pakistan International Airline started regular flights to China which resulted in increased business. Kara Koram Highway is the road link that flourishes trade and tourism between the two countries.
1963 Historic Visit of Foreign Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto to China made it was even better as this showed that pakistan is willing to develope their relationship.1964 Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) started its flights to Beijing, becoming the first non-communist country airline to fly from Beijing, entering into a new era of linkages between the two countries. Pakistan was the window for China to interact with the rest of world.1965 Agreement on Cultural Cooperation signed, promoting understanding and harmony.China has supported Pakistan's stand on Kashmir issue. During the 1965 war with India, China supplied military aid to Pakistan along with diplomatic assistance.
1976 Agreement on Scientific and Cultural Cooperation signed, opening huge opportunities for Pakistani scientists and students. 1978 The Karakoram Highway, a construction miracle, linking mountainous Northern Pakistan with Western China officially opened, linking China to the Arabian Ocean. Again this was mutually beneficial as pakistan could easily trade and china could send its goods to the world through the sea.
1989 The two countries sign an agreement on Reciprocal Encouragement and Protection of Investments. China is the largest investor in Pakistan. In 1986, the two countries signed a nuclear cooperation treaty which is an indication of very good relationship.
1995 Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto visits China as a special guest to attend the 4th Women's Conference in Beijing, bring the women of the two friendly nations close to each other. In 1999 The contract to jointly develop and produce the JF-17 was signed, a landmark event for Pakistan's defense Industry.China gave the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant to Pakistan, constructed near Mianwali and which started operation in 1999.

I edited it a bit, the ans was really good but some points were missing which i added.
Fine answer though a few points of failures need elaboration.
ReplyDeleteGood answer, really helpful
ReplyDeleteThis surah teaches us to seek Allah's refuge from the mischief of the whisperers. We can incline to the erring suggestions of a man as well as to the secret whispers of evil within our hearts. Allah being the Sustainer, King and Deity of all mankind has complete control and authority on His creatures and can fully protect us from ill temptations arising into our hearts. Against repeated devilish attempts, a man should follow the Quranic instruction, "and on God let the believers put their trust" (9: 51).
ReplyDeleteImportance in a Muslim's life:
This surah in combination with Surah Al-Falaq provides protection to a believer against all external and internal potential dangers. When a Muslim struggles for a noble cause, a number of people in the society normally turn against him. The devils would whisper evil intentions in hearts of wrongdoers against him. This surah will provide him refuge before their desires culminate into evil actions. When a person comes forward for the welfare of community or for preaching moral virtues, evil thoughts frighten him by bringing a picture of troubles and obstructions in front of him. Similarly, internal feelings of a person can influence his judgement, selection or decision. Satan tells a person that committing small sins is not a serious issue, and stops him if he wants to raise voice against the social evils by saying that it is not alone your job. Surah Al-Nas is a shield for him against such hidden evils.
